We are expanding our commercial team and seeking a driven, proactive, and relationship‑focused Area Sales Manager to manage key accounts and grow new business within a designated territory.
Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing existing customer relationships, developing new business opportunities, and delivering consistent sales growth in the automotive safety and warning equipment market. This role suits an enthusiastic salesperson with strong technical aptitude and experience working with automotive, fleet, or industrial products.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
- Conduct regular account reviews to identify growth opportunities.
- Provide product guidance, specification support, and commercial proposals.
New Business Development
- Proactively identify and win new customers across your territory.
- Prospect and qualify new leads through visits, networking, events, and market research.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations tailored to customer needs.
Sales Performance & Territory Management
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Manage territory planning and prioritise activity to maximise results.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline information and customer records using CRM tools.
Product & Market Knowledge
- Develop a deep understanding of our vehicle safety and warning products, applications, and industry regulations.
- Provide feedback to management regarding market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
- Support marketing and product teams with real‑world insights from customers.
Customer Visits & Field Work
- Carry out regular on‑site customer visits, product demonstrations, and technical discussions.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer open days where required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a field sales or account management role (preferably automotive, fleet, commercial vehicles, industrial equipment, or related markets).
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to understand technical products and explain them clearly.
- A proactive approach to pipeline building and closing sales.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within territory.
